How I Organize My Week (Without Losing My Mind)

If you're anything like me, you’ve got a million tabs open in your brain at all times. Work, keeping up the house, prepping for baby, and trying actually to take care of yourself can make it feel like the week runs you instead of the other way around.

Here’s exactly how I organize my week to stay on track and make life feel a little more doable.

Time Blocking Is My Secret Weapon

I swear by time blocking. Whether it's scheduling my work shifts, dinner time, my night routine, or even when I’m doing laundry, giving each task its little home on the calendar helps me stay focused and not feel like I’m constantly playing catch-up.

I even time block when I should complete items on my to-do list. Setting aside an hour or two to complete these goals and priorities keeps me sane.

Weekly To-Do Lists That Work

Having a fresh to-do list at the start of the week is a must! I set 3–5 realistic goals. This week it's to clean the car, organize the baby’s clothes, and buy a bedside cart. That little hit of dopamine from checking a box? And it helps with accountability, especially when I want to procrastinate.

Designate a Declutter Day

Pick one space in your house that needs some love. Just one. Maybe it’s the junk drawer, your car, the top of the fridge, you know the one. I aim to do this once a week, and slowly, everything gets cleaned out. You’ll be surprised how fast the clutter clears when you’re consistent. Plus, it eventually takes way less time than doing one giant purge every few months.

Schedule Your Self-Care & Maintenance

This might be the most underrated part of the week.

Hair mask day 💆‍♀️ Face mask night 🧖‍♀️ Hair wash days, Self-tan sessions, Nail touch-ups

Treating these things like appointments helps me follow through. And honestly, even 20 minutes of feeling put together makes a huge difference!

Plan Your Meals (So You’re Not Staring at the Fridge at 6 PM)

Even a rough plan for your meals each day helps. Whether you’re following a certain diet or just trying to avoid the last-minute dinner scramble, looking at your schedule and picking your meals in advance saves time, money, and stress.

I’m not saying you need a color-coded meal prep spreadsheet, unless that’s your thing. Knowing what’s for dinner ahead of time keeps your week running smoother. Because let’s be real: there’s nothing worse than staring into the fridge at night and wishing a lasagna would magically appear.

You don’t need to have it all figured out, but having a framework can make the chaos a little more manageable. Time blocking, routine self-care, a weekly to-do list, and giving your space and brain a little breathing room really do add up.

And remember: give yourself grace. Life is busy, your schedule won’t always go perfectly, but these simple systems make room for flexibility and peace of mind.
